Adelaide, Australia — Tallor Gooch continued his bogey-free run at the LIV Australia Opening Course on Saturday and hit his second consecutive 10-under 62 to extend his lead to 10 strokes after two rounds at Grange Golf Club.
Gooch had a total of 36 par 124 holes in Sunday’s final round. He drove in four batters after the opening round.
As the tournament leader, the 31-year-old American started his first hole round on Saturday in starting shotgun form and posted four birdies on five holes of the ninth hole. He bore his final hole at Grange to take the lead to double figures.
“Everything is going my way,” said Gotch, who had an eagle and eight birdie on Saturday. “I hit the ball where I want it to go, a couple of times when I missed a shot I ended up in a decent place.”
There were six tied for second, including Brooks Koepka who shot 65.
Cam Smith, the domestic champion and British Open champion, was another hit back and in a tie for eighth after a 66. Phil Mickelson was among that group after a 65.
The individual winner of the Grange will collect $4 million out of a total $20 million purse.
The 14-event season continues next weekend at Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore.
