The Phoenix Suns and Mercury have severed ties with bankrupt broadcaster Bali Sports. Not only are the Suns and Mercury moving away from cable, but they’re moving their games off cable TV entirely.
Starting in upcoming seasons, Phoenix teams will broadcast their games on free-to-air television, as well as the consumer streaming service. The games will be available on local TV in Phoenix, Tucson, and Yuma, and the Suns and Mercury are teaming up with streaming company Kiswe on a new platform for streaming games.
New Suns owner Matt Eshpia said the move is about looking after the fans and the Phoenix community.
“We’re not focused on money. We’re focused on winning, being successful, taking care of the fans and taking care of the community,” said Eshpia, the new team owner. “What happens is you always end up making money. It always works out.”
“We’re going to have more fans than ever before. We’re going to have more people who are going to have eyeballs on Devin Booker and Deandre.” [Ayton] and Kevin Durant, Chris [Paul] The team is encouraged. And more people are buying merchandise because they’re a big fan.”
