With a new GM now in place, the hard work and heavy lifting will begin in earnest for Brad Treliving and its partners.
Fortunately for us, there were some things to chew on over the weekend.
We started Monday edition of Leafs Morning Take Speaking of the six busy weeks ahead for Maple Leafs. They will be cutting their work for themselves – that’s for sure. Of course, the big decisions will be made towards the end of the month on July 1ststreet and the free agency approach.
Of note, the Leafs and Sheldon Keefe seem to have kept in close touch over the past week since it all happened. If I were to hold things back, that certainly bodes well for his future behind the bench in Toronto. Moreover, pretty much all internship vacancies are now accounted for. We’ll see what happens, but I’d probably put good money on Keefe staying.
Speaking of bench chiefs, remember Mike Babcock? Yes, it looks like the 60-year-old could return to the NHL as head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets in a move that likely won’t go down until his contract with the Leafs officially expires at the end of the month. Suffice it to say, I feel terrible about Johnny Goudreau and Patrick Lane.
Finally, for Betano Rap UpRosie and I both feel Florida win tonight in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final.
Join us on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. ET for more talk of the exciting and exhilarating Leafs. In addition, we may have a very special guest joining us for the third time. discipline!
