Shane Whittington returned to the Indiana Pacers this time as a member of the team’s coaching staff, for every Scott Agnes from The Fieldhouse Files.
An undrafted football player, Whittington began his professional career at Indiana from 2014 to 2016. In two seasons with the Pacers, he averaged 2.5 points and 1.5 boards in 27 total games.
He went on to play abroad for the next six years, suiting up for various teams in La Liga ACB and Zenit Saint Petersburg in Russia.
Earlier this week, the Pacers also welcomed back Larry Bird as their advisor. A former Hall of Famer has served as its head coach, chief of basketball operations and advisor on previous occasions.
