Sergio Petis wasn’t sure of himself
During the post-match press conference, Sergio Pettis told reporters he didn’t think he’d come out victorious over Pitbull (via MMA fighting).
“I thought I was going to lose this fight, I’m not going to lie,” Pettis admitted Friday at a post-fight news conference at Bellator 297.
“I was telling my girl, I’m like, ‘Hey, if I lose to anyone, it’s okay to lose to Patricio Pitbull. He’s a legend. So I didn’t think I was going to lose, I just had fights with my brain. I was kind of nervous, scared, whatever Ex; after 18 months of competition, I kind of forgot what all this felt like. And I’m amazed. I’m amazed. He’s the opposite of Nate Diaz – I’m amazed, mom.”
Now that he’s over Pitbull, “The Phenom” will set his sights on Patchy Mix, the interim Bellator Bantamweight Champion. The two had a confrontation after Betis’ victory at Bellator 297 and the two were friendly inside the cage. Time will tell when the title unification match between Sergio Pettis and Patchy Mix will be booked, but many fans of the fight are anticipating a big hit.
