This all started with a simple request: Review a speaker. As someone who is music obsessed, I was all in. To my delight the package I got from Precision Pro was several Christmases at once. The kit included a Duo speaker, their NX10 Slope rangefinder, speaker grills, two cases, a divot tool, bag tag bottle opener and a couple skins for the rangefinder.
Unboxing the NX10 Slope + Duo bundle
Let’s start with the company. Precision Pro is a Cincinnati, Ohio-based company. They started with the goal of creating the most affordable rangefinder possible for golfers. As their business grew, they innovated with better design, better accuracy and a better product. They paid attention to their customer base and developed golfer-centric products.
Let’s get into the nitty gritty and start with the rangefinder review.

Fast, clear, accurate
Fast is an understatement. I play with a regular foursome who all sport miscellaneous rangefinders. As much as I like to play with these bozo’s every Saturday morning, it seems they all love to use my NX10 Precision Pro Rangefinder.
Each time they use it they marvel at it’s speed. Plus, we are all a tad advanced in age so the world-class optics are an immense help for those of us who are sight-challenged. I wear glasses and find viewing it a breeze.
Myself being a professional photographer, I am a stickler for good optics. The NX10 passes that requirement with flying colors. I find that its quick (or should I say speed of light fast) flag acquisition helps with my essential tremors from too much caffeine after trying to get my ass out of bed at 3:30 am on a Saturday morning to feed my golf addiction.
Golf’s ONLY customizable rangefinder
Yup if you are like me and DON’T want to be like every other golf nerd out there, I want to stand out. Since my game is not helping me stand out (other than the comic entertainment I provide my cart mates with my errant shots and spastic swing), I need something to give me a sense of uniqueness. There are a multitude of skins you can sport on your NX10. Heck, collect them all so your buddies have reason to be jealous.
Premium built quality
I have tested this rangefinder for nearly a full season. I have beaten it, thrown it and put it in the cubby of the golf cart with all the junk left by the 80 drunks that used it before me (a sad reality of the muni course curse). Not only has it taken the beating like a punch-drunk prize fighter, it looks nearly brand new. Cosmetics aside it is solid and perfectly balanced. Not bulky or cumbersome in any way. If you are going to drop your hard-earned money on a rangefinder you want to know it will last.
Adaptive slope technology
This is a stroke saver! It easily adapts to uphill and downhill giving you accurate distances. A must for proper club choice. If you want to know how important this is check out Paul Seifert’s statements on slope. Once you read this you will appreciate an accurate slope rangefinder:
“Slope” gives a realistic plays-like distance factoring in elevation. In this case, an ~ 29-foot rise from the tee to green on the 7th hole at North Hills Country Club will seriously affect your club selection. If hitting an 8-iron because of the 150-yard distance, chances are a well-struck shot will land short, potentially in the front-right bunker or at the base of the elevated green. A 7-iron, on the other hand, should fall to the 29-foot height closer to the 150-yard shot distance you’re looking for.
If you’re not great at math or don’t want to consider elevation in club selection, a rangefinder with slope functionality will provide realistic plays-like distances quickly and effectively.
Overall, the NX10 Slope is a must-have and you will love having it in your arsenal of golf tools.
Precision Pro Duo Speaker
Now to the Duo Speaker, the start of all of this.
I am bit of an audio freak. I have friends with 6-figure stereo systems and have spent a good deal of time listening to said systems. This speaker ROCKS! Yeah, if you want to be the obnoxious hayseed who plays your German underground techno punk for all to hear, this speaker will deliver in spades.
I prefer a bit more mellow to help me relax and screw up my game naturally. Now the bonus part of the speaker: It is magic! With a single press of the button, you can get your yardages to the front, center and back of greens. I tried this a lot and found it extremely helpful. In tandem with the rangefinder you can get a complete picture of what is in front of you. Or just use it on it’s own and get accurate yardage to the front, middle and back of the green.
But wait, don’t order yet. With a double-press you can get slope adjustment!!!! Now for the trifecta, a 3-second hold gives you personal layup. This is not something I would use as I Tin Cup all my shots. But for those of you who are decent golfers, this is a huge bonus.
So, in conclusion I give this package a birdie score. I DEFINITELY recommend it for both low-handicappers and high-handicappers. Precision Pro’s products are well-built, well-engineered and aesthetically beautiful. They are a great investment in your golf tools.
