They’ve played a bunch of great holes, witnessed great American generosity, seen a number of excellent sights, and even met some inspiring people (Jack Nicklaus in particular). Here’s what they had to say about their masterpieces Golf vacation in Florida!
PGA National Resort
The PGA National offers the complete golf resort experience. A $100 million renovation in 2012 transformed the resort, allowing it to boast modern luxury combined with great history as one of The greatest golf resorts in the USA.
Located in Palm Beach Gardens, this resort features 90-hole championship golf – just over an hour’s drive away Miami International Airport – The perfect getaway for British golfers craving some championship golf in the sunshine state.
In addition to hosting Ryder Cup in 1983PGA NationalSetting the PGA Tour’s “Florida Swing” in motion with the Honda Classic since 2007. Standing between the competition and winning is Champion cycle and the infamous “Bear Trap” – the toughest three-hole stretch on the PGA Tour named after Jack Nicklaus who redesigned the course in 1990.
The championship will be won or lost inside The Bear Trap – pros are happy to run away with three classes, as are any amateur buffs!
Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge
Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge It is a privately owned and unpretentious golf course that hosts the second leg of the Florida swing in the heart ofOrlando . The club has 80 bedrooms and 27 holes of golf, and as a resident of the club you feel like a guest of Arnold Palmer, not a “nobody” at any other golf resort.
The Arnold Palmer’s Invitational brings out all the big names and is one of the most historic competitions on the PGA TOUR, dating back to 1966. Previous winners here include Tiger Woods (8 times), Fred Cobbles, Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els and Rory McIlroy – so you can Understand why every golfer wants their name added to the trophy.
The course itself offers 27 holes of beautiful parkland, with Challenger and Champion 9s making up the layout you see on TV. It’s long and narrow, and features one of the toughest 9 backs on the Tour, with 14y and 17y Undoubtedly the two hardest. 18y It provides a grandstand finish and has been home to some of golf’s most exciting shots!
TPC Sawgrass
Possibly the most famous course on the PGA TOUR schedule, TPC SawgrassFamous hosting Players Championship Since 1982. It is one of the The best in Florida It is a must for anyone visiting the Sunshine State. There are very few golf strategy tests quite like this, with surprisingly undulating fairs and greens (which you can’t always see on TV), aplenty doglegs, and intimidating tee shots.
Here, you’ll need to battle the water from start to finish, especially on the infamous 17th hole, the most famous par 3 in golf! 18y It’s another hole-in-the-wall whirlwind, a challenging Category 4 whirlwind around the ballpark’s largest lake. It’s an exhausting end to the tour no doubt, but the end is worth it with the prospect of walking down one of the most beautiful clubs in the world.
Innsbruck Golf Resort
located nearTampa And Innsbruck Golf ResortIt is more of a family compound with four championship golf courses close to the famous Clearwater beaches. This resort may not be as well known as some of the others on this list, however, it has been chosen by many professionals Copperhead cycleas their favorite layout on the PGA Tour.
The Valspar Championship is the last stop on the Florida swing and features gorgeous undulating holes through pines, testing dog legs, and several water features—more like the sandy hills of Carolina and Georgia than typical Florida terrain.
The resort also has three other 18-hole championship courses – all of which are superbly preserved and serve as perfect preparation before facing The Copperhead.
Bonus: Trump National Doral Miami
This is 15 minutes’ drive from Miami International Airport Trump National Doral MiamiIt is the perfect destination for golfers looking to get away for a quick few days playing golf in Florida. Donald Trump bought this squalid property in 2012 for $150 million, and has given the property a major overhaul into one of the most impressive lodging and golfing resorts in the world.
And although it is no longer on the PGA TOUR schedule, having previously hosted an event for more than half a century, it is definitely worth a visit on any tour. The five-star complex houses a total of five world-class courses and a state-of-the-art driving range with an LED lighting system, which was the first of its kind.
