TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa Oilers couldn’t overcome the Kansas City Mavericks in their recent clash at the BOK Center. Despite Jimmy Lodge’s early goal for the Oilers, the Mavericks responded swiftly, with Bradley Schoobaert and Max Andreev putting them in the lead. Patrick Curry and Kyle Jackson further extended the Mavericks’ lead in the first period.
Dante Sheriff managed to reduce the deficit for Tulsa, but Jackson’s second goal of the game and Jeremy McKenna’s goal kept the Mavericks comfortably ahead. Davis ‘T-Bone’ Codd and Jamie Rome scored for the Oilers in the third period. It was a beautiful shot from the corner into the shoulder and behind Cale Morris. Unfortunately, a late empty-net goal by Cade Borchardt secured a 7-4 victory for the Mavericks.
The Mavericks are in the postseason in consecutive seasons for the first time since making it in five-straight seasons from 2009-14.
