Earlier in the week I asked the question, what can you, as a Miami Dolphins fan, give up now or are on the way to securing just one more power Franchise victory? Here are some of your comments-
FLSurferMike Putting a low value on what he is willing to give up.
Ah, Samish
dirty Just wanted that win as a true long suffering Blue fan!
For me, it’s worth all the pain and misery I’ve been through as a fan. I love my team and never turn my back on the teams I support. In my youth, I chose my team based on the players I liked. Dan Marino’s Monday Night Against the Bears to stop the undefeated team was when I fell in love with the Dolphins and never looked back. Get me one Super Bowl and all the mistakes in the draft, free agency, playoff losses, etc. would all be erased and it was worth the wait. I’m a Cleveland Cavs fan too. I fell in love with them during the Brad Dougherty and Mark Price years. When the Cavs got their title in 2016, they eliminated the bitterness of “the shot,” injuries that kept them from competing at the level they should, poor recruiting choices, like Tristan Thompson over Kawhi Leonard, and the dumb message Dan Gilbert sent after leaving LeBron for the first time. Nicknames heal all wounds and make fans’ pain worth it.
MIAMI235 It also goes with food, but it seems to beat the guy with a ham sandwich, so there’s…
lasagna!
Bill Moody– We feel you, brother! We all feel your pain!!!!
I support the team on the road every season attending at least 1 game… last season was 3 (Chicago, San Francisco, LAC). I’ve been doing this for over 10 seasons now. I think I did my part, and now it’s the team’s turn to return the favor and win something meaningful.
Daytonadolfan He stated his point in sarcasm but I’m honestly not sure he wouldn’t give up a body part for another trophy…
Evening …………………… maybe college? I mean I have two soooooo……
Vince Thoughts seem fine as long as we’re not talking about kidnapping or worse…
Arm, leg and reel Stephen Ross. . .
finfanfromsiam He should move on and keep his kids safe IMO!
evening! My last offspring….The last one was female…
Alpha 6 Everyone gets in!
Left nut. I don’t use it anyway.
USMCFinzFreak He just wants a chance to share the moment with his son!
This means that I can die a happy man. The glory years have been witnessed and the roots of this team have taken root ever since. On the other hand, my son has had decades of mediocrity. Poor thing, he was taught early in life to love dolphins. We both said that if the Dolphins got to SB, we’d come to the game. It would be my great pleasure to share with him the joy of winning the SB Award,
Dolphingo on something. First off, yeah, it’s a weird question but I’ve run out of things to ask if I’m being honest (seriously, some days I just don’t want to be bothered). Otherwise, I agree. We do our part as fans and should be rewarded in kind but we are at the mercy of people who have far more money and power than us. Note: I don’t know if you’re asking me but I have no idea what happened to your comment.
Strange question there James! Surrender personally? None of the dam! I support my team by watching and investing my time. I spent money going to games and watching sports bars. But win or lose is just a game. It seems that the sun still rises every Monday morning. The NFL has taken sides in politics, and the money many players make is obscene! How much did the Redskins sell for? This is a distraction, from real life and nothing more. And Alpha keeps that left nut, whether he uses it or not. We are already given a lot and have to put up with an incredible amount of junk fed down our throats on a regular basis. Surrender personally, we do every time we turn on and tune that machine……………………………. ….
77- May God have mercy on him He has a story very close to home. I feel you brother!
I think most of us frustrated Dolphins fans have found lasting joy from rooting for favorites in other sports to championship glory. For me, New York Islanders Stanley Cup The hockey run from 1980-83 was about as glorious as it gets (Although no one needs to question the loyalty of my Dolphins because the Islanders are a long way from it when it comes to New York based teams!). Back to back Toronto Blue Jays World Championship Titles in ’92 and ’93 were strong moments as well as being my home team! The most recent was the 2019 NBA Toronto RaptorsAnother local favorite that just turned awesome! No one on either side of the border expected them to be champions that year. There is something special about following a team for a full season and who wins it all. It’s the same kind of feeling one gets after a job well done. But the Miami Dolphins Superbowl? This will be the most private of all. I say this because Miami is the only sports team I’ve followed regularly since day one of being a cheerleader, and I’ve been since 1982. Not once have I changed my allegiance. Even during those pre-Internet days (or the Neolithic for you millennials), I would check the TV every Sunday for any Miami games, listen to the radio/TV sports shows, and then read the Tuesday paper for stats and any Champions stories. long distances in the south. Every year I think of Shula and Marino. Well, this should finally work! …and yet it never worked. Dolphins have been a part of my life for the past 40 years. SB winning for us means a lot to me. I think it will answer the question of why I succumbed year after year. For me, this feat echoes one word, aloud in my mind – finally!
renderer True and my comment was not personal at all. I was born in 1970, so when I was on Earth for both of them, I could hardly remember anything about them.
“But the last time a team won the Super Bowl was longer than most of us have been alive, aka a very long time!” Whoa now my last SB win was 4 days before I was born. Not that long ago…. wait.. darn. Well, I’ve been waiting literally my whole life for SB to win, so it will be worth a lot.
Tua2HillWaddle He is someone I’ve never seen, hello and other things! Your feelings are likely to be universal among the vast majority of Phins fans!
I’ve already given up enough of my life. I need to see more than just one win by the end of the match and then I’m done – purgatory of the playoffs isn’t enough either. Multiple tournaments is what I want. What will I pay? I’ve already paid enough.
As is probably the correct answer, most of them weren’t willing to give anything up because we all spent money, time and effort to support this team despite being disappointed time and time again. Now what’s going on with Johnny, that’s a question that’s never meant to be answered.
