The Rangers are back at it tonight, welcoming the Devils to MSG for their third preseason contest. It’s still preseason, but the Devils are projected to be a top-three team in the Metro, so this may be an inkling of what’s to come. Not so much from a wins/losses standpoint, but from a systems standpoint and how the Rangers manage the Devils speed, a real problem last year.
Alexis Lafreniere is on the top line and PP1 tonight, perhaps another sign of things to come. The Blueshirts are also dressing a good amount of NHLers tonight. The Devils are playing a bunch of NHLers too, including Luke Hughes, who they are hoping will fill the void left by Damon Severson. Should be an interesting one tonight.
