Gwladys Nocera is the captain of the European national team 2023 Peng Junior Solheim Cupwhich will take place from September 18th to 19th in La Zagaleta, Spain.
Nocera is also no stranger to the Solheim Cup, having represented Europe on four occasions previously in the 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2015 editions. Since wrapping up her career, the 14-time LET winner works for the French Golf Federation and coaches the French national team, which has enjoyed success Most recently in winning the European Girls Team Championship in 2022.
“It is a great honor to be asked to be the next captain of the PING Junior Solheim Cup, and it is with great pride that I have agreed to captain the European team,” said Nocera. “I will put all my heart into this role in order to make this week unforgettable for the girls. I know in my heart what this event brings to players, fans, parents, coaches and all the people who love golf. Twelve of Europe’s best young female golfers between the ages of 12 and 18 will compete against Team USA on the Old Course as they look to defend their title won in Ohio in 2021. The European team will consist of six leading players from the PING Junior Solheim Cup seeding It will be selected automatically, while there will also be six selections for captaincy based on performance in the leading amateur events and the European Ladies Amateur Ranking.

The United States first played in 2002, and is currently leading 7.5-3.5 in the competition.
