Memphis Grizzlies winger Dillon Brooks will face no further punishment after being ejected from Game Three. Brooks was ejected after committing a Flagrant 2 foul for a shot in the groin of Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James.
Brooks had previously stated that he would not respect James until the Lakers star had “40 fallen on him”. Brooks later clarified that he respected James, but was not afraid of him. He also took the opportunity to call James “old,” while implying that the NBA’s all-time leading scorer wasn’t the player he once was.
For his part, James said that these comments do not bother him. After Brooks was fired, James said he was “just focused on the game plan. There was a lot of play going on when that incident happened. So I just tried to get up and protect my crown jewels and move on to the next play.”
