Statement from PFL
The Professional Football League issued a statement regarding a slew of failed drug tests from the start of the 2023 season. The promotion has shown that it is looking at the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) as a possible measure in the future.
The PFL has been notified by the Nevada State Athletic Commission that several fighters who competed in the 2023 PFL regular season events this past April have been temporarily suspended pending further review by the commission.
“The PFL has a zero-tolerance policy regarding the use of banned substances and complies with the requirements of the US State Sports Commission. Furthermore, as the PFL moves toward the highest level of testing and compliance in sport, the PFL is partnering with USADA in implementing its anti-doping program for its athletes.”
Of the 36 PFLP bouts held on April 1, April 7, and April 15, seven fighters were blown up for banned substances. Members of the Nevada Athletic Commission expressed their disappointment at the alarming number of failed drug tests in such a short period of time during a recent meeting.
