Serious group Newcastle Eagles is the new name for a new era of professional basketball in the Northeast after the most successful British Basketball League franchise struck a bold new partnership.
The Tyneside-based Seriös Group will shape the identity of both the men’s and women’s franchise after securing the naming rights for the new season.
The fast-growing data and testing solutions provider will take its place front and center on Marc Stottle’s fresh-faced men’s jerseys while retaining its striking brand on the field.
“Last season Seriös Group joined as an official analytics partner and we’ve been able to do some great work together” explained Paul Blake, Newcastle Eagles general manager.
“The relationship grew stronger and stronger to the point where both sides could see value in growing together.
“The club has been searching for the perfect naming rights partner for some time and Seriös Group is ticking all the right boxes.”
Seriös Group has been working alongside the Eagles since September 2022 and the ambitious company has moved on to sealing its relationship with the club at every level.
After the company moves to a new headquarters at Hoults Yard in Newcastle and expands its workforce, Seriös Group CEO Lee Rorison is expecting big things on and off the field.
“We are very proud and excited to be the club’s naming rights partner and title sponsor of the BBL team for next season,” said Rorrison.
“After our sponsorship of the hoops last season, where we gained knowledge which generated new business, we felt this was the natural next step to further strengthening our partnership with Britain’s most successful basketball team ever.
“In addition to gaining brand recognition with the new partnership, it also provides us with a great platform to showcase our best breeding data analysis technology, Seriös One, at the Vertu Motors Arena.
“We’re already working with Paul and the team to collect many data points and help with energy reduction and sustainability.
The club is expected to reveal its BBL squad kit for the 2023-24 season next month as Steutel’s new roster takes shape this summer.
