NBL Division 1 Wilson Player of the Year Aryn Ray signs with the Knicks
The 6’6 forward joins the club after a dominant season for Hemel Storm who went the entire season undefeated, amassing a 26-0 record that clinched every silverware available to them last season.
The talented forward closed out with regular season stats of 24.0PPG, 10.8 RPG, and 5.5APG, and also shot 64.5% from the floor and 45.9% from long range. Ray led the NBL D1 team in efficiency and rebounding, finished second in scoring and fifth in assists per outing, earning him the right to be named Player of the Year.
Coach Ben Thomas
“We started following Aaryn’s performance early last season, and it became clear that he was one of the best players in NBL Division 1 and that he had previously had a really good college career at Dartmouth. We made him one of our top targets and really believed he could become a very good player in the BBL. His dexterity and creativity are some of his best characteristics but they are offset by his work rate and high basketball I.I am really looking forward to seeing Arjen make a step into the BBL and getting the chance to work with him next season.”
Aren
“Really excited to be signing for a great community club like Cheshire. We look forward to contributing to the wins and hopefully trophies next season!”
