August 5th will see Jake Paul and Nate Diaz take on each other in a boxing match, and once again, the UFC legend will find himself as the biggest underdog. It’s a position Diaz has found himself in on numerous occasions in his MMA career, and where he seems to thrive.

Diaz Shox MacGregor
When it comes to Nate Diaz beating the odds, there is no better example than when he shocked the world against Conor McGregor. Much like Jake Betting odds on Paul vs. Diaz At +250, the California native was the complete outsider against McGregor, with Diaz taking the fight on only eleven days’ notice.
Given this, McGregor was a strong candidate for the UFC 196 match, just as Jake Paul would be with the likes of Paddy Power Boxing On August 5th in Dallas, TX where it is currently -300. Diaz has been around the block many times, however, and has used both his sons and his unending will to win to shock the mixed martial arts world.
As he would in most of his matches, Diaz took a beating in the first part of the fight, but once again proved he had one of the strongest chins in the business, fighting back to victory via submission in the second round.
Why is Paul a strong favourite?
Simply put, Jake Paul is a heavy favorite in his war with Diaz due to his boxing experience. The two men could not be more different in their fighting styles and, indeed, in their lives. Paul, a social media influencer who has had an impressive boxing career thus far, is somewhat on a redemption mission, as the 26-year-old tasted defeat for the first time against Tommy Fury last time, as covered by the BBC.
Prior to this, Paul had already shown some decent technical boxing skills, but despite defeating his opponent during the match, Fury proves to be very strong in the end. If Paul were to descend into an MMA superstar with little boxing experience, his dream of making it to the sport’s top table would be in tatters.
If, as most people would expect, Paul can handle Diaz’s brutal swinging style and rise to the top, he will have earned more respect in the sport, something he has not yet done thanks to his bluntness and excessive antics, According to Fox News.
Paul or Diaz, who wins?
As mentioned, both men couldn’t be more different in their style. Diaz has one of the strongest chins in all of combat sports and seems to like to get his blood rushing by landing him some heavy blows in the early stages of his fights.
Sheer stamina and toughness are his main attributes, and he packs a mean punch that could give Paul a lot of trouble if he can make it land.
Paul, on the other hand, likes to think of himself as a technical boxer, but he also has a heavy right hand that has caused some trouble for his opponents, most notably when he took down Tommy Fury in their fight earlier this year.
Paul should win, but he’ll be full of the MMA veteran.
