Rochester, New York | It had been nearly an hour since Brooks Koepka had finished winning the PGA Championship at Oak Hill, and he was still 18th to take pictures with the Wanamaker Trophy and many groups and individuals were getting their own shots of the historic moment.
Koepka smiled a satisfied man as he took photo after photo, resting his forearm on the 27-pound silver trophy at one point and flashing all five fingers again.
Winning one major tournament puts a golfer in select company.
Winning five majors places the player in the elite company.
Consider who Koepka joined with five majors: Seve Ballesteros, Peter Thomson, Byron Nelson, John Henry Taylor, and James Braid. Three of the five—Thompson, Taylor and Breed—combined to win the claret race 15 times, with Taylor and Breed collecting what they had in over a century.
