On Saturday night, former Strikeforce and UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold made his debut for the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. Stepping inside the squared circle, Rockhold squared off with former UFC standout player ‘Platinum’ Mikey Perry in BKFC 41 headline.
Mike Perry jumped off the scratch line and immediately pressured Rockhold in the first round. Near the end of the round, Rockhold landed a left uppercut that rocked Perry. Platinum countered with a big left hand that hit Rockhold. Rockhold quickly exploited his reach advantage to land another solid left as Perry sought.
Perry came out for second to bring the pressure back. Platinum began targeting Rockhold’s body and landed a large right hand on Rockhold in the process. In a strange turn of events, Rockhold removed his mouthpiece mid-fight and made it clear to referee Dan Miragliotta that he did not want to continue. The match fizzled out as a result.
The official score: Mike Perry def. Luke Rockhold via TKO (knockouts) at 1:15 of the second round
