The Nuggets defeated the Timberwolves in Game 2 to take a 2-0 series lead in the first round, but the victory was far from easy.
Denver lost the third quarter by 17 points (23-40) and went into the final period down by two. Michael Malone’s team rebounded in the fourth quarter and took the win, 122-113.
“We played zero defense,” Malone said when asked about what happened in the third quarter. “They scored 40 points, shot 80 [percent] from the field. 80 percent of the field in a quarter. We didn’t play any defense at all. That’s what happened.”
