Visualization practices like martial arts and meditation have played a vital role in Jamal Murray’s success, says Michael Malone, head coach of the Denver Nuggets.
(via House of Highlights):
Arch Madani: “Jamal does a lot of fantasizing, and he buys martial arts stuff. How much do you think that fantasizing helped him become a pro, and seeing the floor really, really kind of helped him with his career?”
What color: “Well, first of all, it’s real. That was part of his upbringing through his father, Roger. Martial arts, meditation, visualization. That allowed Jamal to get to this stage and perform at his level. It allowed him to recover from an injury that saw him miss the last two seasons.” So the most important aspect of it all to me is that it’s real, it’s real, Jamal believes in it and practices it. That allows him to go out and use it to help his game, help his body, help his mind. Whatever is going to put him in the right frame of mind, I’m all for it, Because we all see what he’s doing out there on the biggest stage in the world.”
