The Miami Heat was one of the biggest upsets of the season. Not only did they upset the Milwaukee Bucks as an eighth seed, but they apparently flipped the switch at playoff time. However, they would not have achieved such success without their co-star Jimmy Butler. Butler, who led the team to an NBA Finals appearance in the 2020 season, was in a historic playoff game. Unfortunately, Miami may have to weather the storm without him for a little while after he suffered a sprained ankle in Game 1 against the New York Knicks.

Butler’s first round historic series
Butler always raised his game at playoff time. However, this season is a little different. In game six against the Bucks, Butler set the franchise record for most points scored in a playoff game with a total of 56 points. Impressive considering Miami has had the likes of Dwyane Wade and LeBron James over the years. On top of that, Butler also averaged 37.6 points, 4.8 assists, and six total rebounds per game during the first round. With nagging injuries plaguing Miami in the first round as well as inconsistent play from their star player, Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler was the Heat’s saving grace in their upset with the single-ranked Milwaukee Bucks.
Jimmy Butler’s long road to becoming a superstar
Jimmy Butler has one of the most unbelievable stories of being a major league star. His mother once kicked the guy out of his house. He also had to go to junior college to play collegiate basketball before getting a chance with Marquette. Even as a six-time All-Star made it to the league, it wasn’t an easy overnight process.
The man had to prove his worth working in the Chicago Bulls’ rotation before establishing himself as a legitimate All-Star. He eventually blossomed and found himself one of the key players for teams like the Timberwolves, 76ers, and now, The Heat. While many NBA players have a great story for making it to the NBA, Jimmy Butler certainly has a case for being the best at overcoming life’s obstacles to get where he is currently. Butler may not have a ring yet, but the way he played these qualifiers, it may be sooner rather than later that he wins a championship.
