Sen. Markwayne Mullen (R-Oklahoma) on Monday challenged the head of a labor union to a mixed martial arts fight in support of charity.
Mullin, who has three MMA fights to his credit according to Sherdog.comchallenged Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien after the two men had a feud online.
The MMA fighter turned politician raised the exchange during another Senate hearing last Wednesday, prompting O’Brien to respond online, calling the senator “John Wayne” and “moron,” a “clown” and a “scam.” in another place.
“Stop playing tough guy in these Senate hearings,” O’Brien wrote in a tweet that mocked Mullen’s height. “You know where to find me. Anywhere, anytime, cowboy.”
Mullen later suggested that they set up a date and place for a mixed martial arts showdown — “for charity.”
“The attention-seeking union boss tries to be tough after his Senate hearing,” Mullen wrote. “OK, I accept your challenge. Fighting MMA for charity of our choice. September 30th in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I’ll give you 3 days to agree.”
