Lydia Warren officially has the number two under her belt as she looked amazing at Peak Fighting 28.
The fight was her first since winning her professional MMA debut at Jorge Masvidal’s iKON FC show in June of 2022.
It had been 11 months between fights, but the short period between fights had no effect on her performance.
Warren trains from Jackson Wink MMA and being part of the world famous gym gives Warren the opportunity to train with the best fighters in the world.
As she puts it, she fights to the death every single day in training, so a few months between an official fight doesn’t mean she doesn’t fight.
Every day, Warren shows up at the gym and improves her skills and in her second professional fight, you can see the improvements.
In Warren’s first fight, she felt like she spent more time fighting and had a lot more energy after the fight.
This time, Warren wanted to apply pressure and speed and use it to her advantage. I did just that.
At the height of the fight 28, Warren fought Megan Bening and as soon as the fight started, she immediately dictated the pace.
Her constant pressure and heavy size were too much for Benning to overcome, and Warren made a clear unanimous decision.
Warren of course is her worst critic and wanted to use more wrestling in the fight, but her trainers calmed her down because they were happy with the way Warren looked because they knew there were big things on the horizon for her.
As for that next big thing, Warren has an idea what it should be.
After her victory, Warren was called up for a shot at the currently vacant Peak Fighting flyweight title. No word at this time on whether or not Warren will get that shot, but she’s confident they’ll call soon to start the fight.
Meanwhile, Warren is enjoying winning, continuing to train and of course working at her other job at Hooters where she recently appeared on TikTok to call out a client who was taking pictures of her.
After her latest win, Warren spoke again with MyMMANews to discuss her performance, hopes for a title shot, and teammate and training partner Michelle Watterson-Gomez being part of the Peak Fighting broadcast team during her fight.
