Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving is on the verge of signing a new shoe deal after his departure from Nike earlier this year. Industry sources indicated that major sneaker companies, including Adidas and Puma, have expressed interest in collaborating with Irving on his next signature shoe.
In December 2022, it was announced that Irving and Nike had mutually decided to separate, after Nike suspended its relationship with the NBA star. The move left Irving as a sneakerhead free agent, due to the popularity of his signature shoes in the league.
Recently, in an Instagram Live session, Irving hinted at an upcoming announcement regarding his new shoe deal. As Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson reports, Irving doesn’t think of Li-Ning as an option and has gained interest from major sneaker brands like adidas and Puma.
With Irving entering unrestricted free agency this summer after completing the season with the Mavericks, securing a new shoe deal will not only provide him with a platform for his creativity, but also cement his influence in the sneaker industry.
