Former two division champion Henry Cejudo had an interesting incident with Crone Gracie during a poster signing session for UFC 288.
Fight Week can be a very stressful time for fighters. In addition to grueling weight reductions for some, the obligation to participate in interviews, open trainings, and press conferences can cause some real excitement. This was apparently on display when Henry Cejudo arrived to sign labels along with Kron Gracie. Both men are set to take part in Saturday’s festivities with ‘Triple C’ once again in the spotlight for a UFC bantamweight title tilt against reigning champion Aljamain Sterling.
Captured by UFC Embedded and shared on Twitter By Combat Sports Today, Kron Gracie was clearly in no mood to deal with Henry Cejudo’s classic fumble.
Sejudo: Is Nate coming?
Gracie: No, it’s his kid’s birthday.
Sejudo: Oh hey (laughs). Nate. Oh My God, I’m So Good Looking (As Cejudo Signs More Posters)
Grace: When it’s over, tell me.
Sejudo: Yes, he said when I finished. Is he mad at me?
UFC employee: I think you’re taking too long.
Eyebrow: Me?
Henry Cejudo is ready to appeal his bantamweight division ruling
Henry Cejudo was quick to dismiss the negative sentiment coming from Gracie, suggesting that the rookie featherweight was likely having a hard time cutting weight for the main card contest with Charles Jordan. After winning three straight victories under the RIZIN banner, Gracie made his UFC debut in 2019 and picked up a first round win over Alex Caceres. Eight months later, he suffered a unanimous decision defeat by Kobe Swanson in his first and so far only career loss.
Almost four years since he last appeared on Inside octagonGracie returns to resume his mixed martial arts career against Canadian superstar Charles Jordan.
As for Henry Cejudo, the Olympic gold medalist is back in his first fight in three years. Capturing the UFC Bantamweight and Featherweight Championships, “Triple C” successfully defended the former against Dominic Cruz at UFC 249. After being knocked out in the second round of ‘The Dominator’, Cejudo was officially suspended, vacating both titles in the process.
After 36 months, Henry Cejudo is back and ready to resume his reign at the top of the 135-pound class.
