UFC middleweight Brendan Allen has hinted that the Khamzat Chimaev vs Jared Cannonier bout will be booked in the near future.
After defeating Marvin Vettori earlier this month, Jared Cannonier has made it clear he still wants to pursue the UFC Middleweight Championship. However, there was no clear path for him back to the top, even with Vettori winning.
Some suggested that he could lock horns with Khamzat Chimaev. Bowers has hinted at the idea of doing the run at 185 pounds, and currently has no opponent booked.

This is where Brendan Allen comes in. Over the weekend, he was able to introduce Bruno Silva in great fashion before announcing he was interested in rivaling Jared Cannonier.
However, interviewing him after the fight may have revealed something interesting.
“Cannonier, he’s looking for a title eliminator,” Allen said during a post-fight interview with Megan Olivey. He told me not to call him [out] Because he might have gotten into a fight, but I already memorized that, so I was like whatever, I have to go with it. I did the two things Ali said [not to do] So I’m sorry Ali, but it’s already saved, so I’m sorry. “
