Kentucky five-star freshman center Aaron Bradshaw is expected to miss the start of the 2023-24 season due to a broken foot sustained in the off-season, Shams Al Sharania reported from The Athletic. Bradshaw played high school basketball at Camden in Rozelle, New Jersey. and ranked fifth overall in the nation in the 2023 recruiting cycle, in 247 sports.
Kentucky Recruitment Class of 2023 Under the leadership of John Calipari, 247Sports ranked as the best in the country. The Wildcats landed four five-star prospects in Bradshaw, Justin Edwards, DJ Wagner, and Robert Dillingham. All four players were expected to immediately play big roles next season due to the lack of scholarship players currently on Kentucky’s roster.
“Bradshaw has the elite tools to develop the modern era big with size, mobility, fluidity, multiple bounces, sound hands, use of his left, emerging jump marks, high lane release and a very soft touch extending beyond the arc,” 247 Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein Books about Bradshaw. “He is also one of the best tire protectors in the country. His engine, which as an underclass was a concern, has made consistent strides over the years.”
This season’s Wildcats lost former National Player of the Year Oscar Chipuis, Casson Wallace, Jacob Tobin and Chris Livingston to NBA Draft. Safer Wheeler, CJ Frederick, Damion Collins and Lance Weir left the team through the transfer portal and it looks like Antonio Reeves, who is reportedly taking summer classes at Illinois State, could transfer from the Wildcats program.
Kentucky finished last season 22-12 and fell to Kansas State in the second round in the NCAA Tournament. Kentucky has not reached the second weekend of the NCAA tournament since 2019.
