Josh Emmett was among seven fighters who were medically suspended indefinitely after UFC Jacksonville on Saturday.
Emmett was headlining the card against Ilia Topuria in a deciding fight for the featherweight division, where the winner could get the next title shot. In the end it was Topuria who won by a lopsided decision dominating Emmett in all five rounds and even taking a rare round 10-7. Despite Topuria dominating Emmett, both received indefinite medical suspensions for five-round scraps.
Along with Josh Emmett and Topuria, Amanda Ribas has also been medically suspended indefinitely after losing by TKO to Maycee Barber in the co-main event. Also on the main card for UFC Jacksonville, Justin Tafa is suspended indefinitely after getting a bad eye in 29 seconds against Austin Lane.
Other fighters who will be suspended indefinitely from UFC Jacksonville are Wellington Turman who lost to Randy Brown, Mateusz Rebecki and Loik Radzhabov for scrap.
Tuesday, MMA junkie She obtained a list of the athletes’ medical suspensions from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations (FDBPR), the sanctioning body that oversaw the event. The FDBPR does not disclose injury details, but does indicate suspension periods.
