UFC fighter Johnnie Walker has announced that he would be interested in welcoming Alex Pereira to the light heavyweight division.
This past weekend at UFC 287, Alex Pereira lost the UFC Middleweight Championship. He was knocked out by Israel Adesanya and as a result, ‘Poatan’ announced that his next fight would be down to 205 pounds.
Of course, speculation has already begun as to who he will face. Many have thrown their name into the hat now, including Johnnie Walker.
The 31-year-old is currently riding a division winning streak after going through a rough patch. In a recent interview, he was asked about the possibility of facing fellow Brazilian.
“Just come in. Everyone will be happy to welcome him.” [Pereira]. “
“Yeah, whatever it takes. I’m happy. It’s what I do for a living. I don’t fight. Whatever the UFC book is for me, I’ll accept, and I’ll be happy. Make camp, train and get out there – mission accomplished.”

Walker welcomes Pereira
If there’s one thing we know about this potential confrontation, it’s that it will be an all-out war. Both men were coming forward with evil intent, and we can’t imagine he’d ever make it past the first round.
Before we can even think about it, Walker must first get past Anthony Smith. The two will collide next month and if Johnny can get a big finish, he’ll catapult himself to a sweet spot at light heavyweight.
What do you think of a possible collision between Johnnie Walker and Alex Pereira? Do you think Walker has enough to overtake Smith? Just how far could “Poatan” go if he made that weight move? Let us know your thoughts in the comments, BJPENN Nation!
