Duke has Final Four predictions officially in its second year under Jon Scheyer. Blue Devils rookie point guard Jeremy Roach will return for another season.
Roach averages last season: 13.6 points, 3.1 assists, 2.5 rebounds and a real shooting percentage of 52.3%. Duke’s season ended with a 10-1 record in its last 11 games, losing to Tennessee in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Roach will be one of the most experienced point guards in college basketball next season, with 75 starts to his name.
Roach announced he was returning to Duke via his Instagram page Monday morning.
Roach would once again be the snakehead for a Duke team that boasts some of the best running back talent in the sport. Roach returns alongside fellow freshmen Kyle Filipowski (ACC Freshman), Tracy Proctor, and Mark Mitchell. Upon his return to Duke, Roach will cement the program’s viability as a national threat—and the Blue Devils should also be the preseason favorite to win the ACC title.
What’s more, the Blue Devils are entering second overall in 2023, According to 247Sports. The rookie bounty includes four five-star players, led by combo guard Jared McKean and power forward Shaun Stewart – both top-20 players.
