The second all-time leading scorer hinted at a return to the NHL with the team that originally drafted him in 1990.
At the age of 51, Jaromir Jagr, undoubtedly one of the greatest players in European hockey history, is still playing professionally. Although he plays in the Czech league, he still competes against players who are often half his age.
Today, Jagr made a suggestion about possibly returning to the NHL in an Instagram post.
While a returner is unlikely to play in the NHL (while he could certainly score some goals if the team takes a chance on him), an NHL returner can happen as a coach or as a manager.
While Jagr likely won’t be the Penguins’ manager, he could be back in the front office. Jagr has a great relationship with part owner and former teammate Mario Lemieux.
The two could work together again in the front office to help the Penguins and their new general manager win a championship, and Jagger could continue to serve as a hockey ambassador.
