After seeing his fight at UFC 290 fall over last weekend after his opponent was forced out due to medical issues, Jack Della Maddalena was able to get into a fight just a week after his original date.
The Australian fighter was to do a fight with Sean Brady, and later Josiah Harrell – but the latter was pulled from the card after weigh-in when a pre-fight MRI revealed he was suffering from moya moya disease, a rare brain condition that may require surgery.
Now, Maddalena (14-2), who hasn’t lost a fight since 2016 after starting his career 0-2, will take on newly signed Bassel Hafez (8-3-1) at UFC Vegas 77 this weekend.
Ariel Helwani He was the first to report the news of the match.
Maddalena is said to be stuck around Las Vegas in the wake of International Fight Week and UFC 290 in hopes of landing a fight. And even though it’s not Shawn Brady, the match gives JDM the chance to earn their fifth straight win inside the Octagon.
All four of Jacques Della Maddalena’s matches in the UFC so far have come by stoppage.
