Conor McGregor believes that if he does not keep himself busy, the results could be disastrous.
The Irishman is one of the most famous athletes in the world and, as a result, one of the wealthiest. With the kind of money that McGregor has at his disposal, he could engage in a plethora of illegal activities. With that in mind, the former UFC B-class champ is keeping as busy as possible trying to keep himself out of trouble.
“I’m happy to be busy,” McGregor said in an interview Daily Mail Sport. “If I’m not busy, with everything at my disposal, it can be disastrous. I can hit myself against a wall. So, I like to keep busy. I have to keep my wits about me and I have to stay sharp. That’s it. My mom always says box.” Smart and that’s it, I’m a smart boxer when it comes to this.”
For Conor McGregor, staying on the straight and narrow is relatively simple. It’s all about building the structure and staying consistent once it’s established.
“Consistency and structure are key,” McGregor revealed. “That’s what it’s about. We stay consistent, we stick to the structure, we stick to the plan and that’s it.”
Conor McGregor is ready to do some damage in his return to the Octagon
Currently, Conor McGregor is preparing for his highly anticipated comeback octagon later this year. Sitting on the sidelines after a devastating leg break in his July 2021 story with Dustin Poirier, ‘The Notorious’ is preparing himself for a comeback that he hopes will eventually lead to an all-time knockout record, which is currently shared by UFC veteran Matt Brown and knockout artist Heavyweight knockout Derrick Lewis.
The Irishman is currently slated for a late 2023 scrap with high-octane lightweight contender ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler. Before they don the four-ounce gloves and head toe-to-toe, Conor McGregor and Chandler can be seen battling each other on the 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter, which is currently airing on ESPN. Of course, this is just a prelude to what’s to come later this year.
“I’m going to kick that guy in the head,” McGregor said of his opponent. “It’s specifically designed to kick him all over the place, and that’s what I’m aiming for. I aim to wrap that steel band around the opponent. And you’ll see an image of a leg dangling and then you’ll see an image of a head dangling. So I’m excited about that and motivated for that, and I’m steadily working my way towards that.”
No date, location or weight class for the bout has been announced, but all parties, including UFC President Dana White, have suggested December as the most likely scenario. The only thing we do know is that no matter where the fight takes place, Conor McGregor will have the support of over five million fans in his home country.
“we [Ireland] warrior nation. We support our region. “When one of us goes to war, we all go to war,” said McGregor. “I said it in 2014 and it’s the honest truth. We’re always ready to rock. Ireland is electrified on Tuesday and it’s on fire on Saturday.”
Conor McGregor currently owns three pubs in his home country, the most popular of which is the Black Forge Inn in Dublin. McGregor has also made a fortune owning his own brand of Irish No. 12 whiskey. In 2021, the Irishman along with his business partners sold their majority stake in the brand to Proximo Spirits for $600 million.
