We’re halfway through the 2023 US Women’s Open, where American Billy Tardy leads the national championship by two strokes.
The 26-year-old rookie LPGA player is in a big position, no doubt. This is just her 11th start of the year and only the 15th day of her LPGA career. She’s never scored a top 20 — her career best finish on the Tour is a tie for 23rd at the Lotte Championship in April — and it’s the fifth time she’s made it this season.
But it was the best with 36 holes in a tough setting at Pebble Beach Golf Links, and now is when the tournament really heats up.

Alison Corpuz and Heo Jun Kim were tied for second at 5 under, 2 under, and Hye-ran Ryu at 3 under. The only other players on a par are Nasa Hatooka and Leona Maguire, both of whom are less than one.
