The 2023 US Women’s Open is set to end in a dramatic fashion on Sunday, with Japan’s Nasa Hataoka leading the PGA’s highest-grossing major tournament by one shot.
The 24-year-old doesn’t seem unfamiliar with the pressure of the US Open, losing in an aggregate playoff at the 2021 US Women’s Open to Yuka Saso. It wasn’t the first time the six-time LPGA winner had faced major competition before, and he also lost a playoff at the 2018 KPMG Women’s Championship.
She was nearly flawless at Pebble Beach on Saturday, making six birdies against no bogeys for 66 and the lowest innings of the tournament so far.

Alison Corpuz is her closest educator at 6 after bogeying on the 18th to close 71 on Saturday. Round two leader Billy Tardy is tied for third with Heo Joo Kim in fourth. Only two other players are on par with the Koreans Jiay Shin and Hae Ran Ryu and they share fifth place under two.
Rose Zhang is among a group of four players including defending champion Mingye Li who is tied for ninth place, one point behind.
