Nate Diaz and Jake Paul are scheduled to clash between the ropes on August 5th, and it has been confirmed that both fighters will be tested for drugs, including marijuana.
The pair’s boxing competition is trending as one of the most anticipated fights of the summer due to the men’s and characters’ massive fan bases. Diaz has built a loyal following while competing in MMA under the UFC banner.
It’s no secret that the Stockton native has two deep passions, fighting and marijuana, and he’ll have to quit smoking the latter before his August fight.
The fight between Diaz and Paul will take place at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation will be the organizer of the competition, which means that both competitors will be subject to drug testing by TDLR and the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association. Marijuana testing will be part of this.
Nate Diaz refused to excuse marijuana before fighting Jake Paul
In regards to marijuana, over the years, several fighters have been suspended for testing positive for use of the drug, including Nate’s brother, Nick Diaz. Recently, states across the United States have become a little more relaxed about fighters’ drug use, but in some places, it’s still very frowned upon.
Marijuana is a major part of the Diaz brother’s personalities and lifestyle. Diaz did not shy away from his love of smoking. He even lit a joint while a USADA test agent was there to test it.
