Golfers are encouraged to reach the age of eighteeny Gold and orange flags To raise awareness of pediatric cancer
Golf courses across the country are invited to show their support for children battling cancer by turning their 18th flag gold and orange during the month of September.
The initiative is being led by ‘It’s Never You’, a charity founded by Ceri Menai-Davis and his wife Frances in memory of their late son Hugh, who sadly lost his life at the age of six to rhabdomyosarcoma in September 2021.
Childhood cancer affects approximately 2,000 children each year in the UK and is the leading cause of death among children. Sadly, around 240 children between the ages of 0 and 14 lose their lives due to this devastating disease.
To show their support, golf clubs are required to fly gold and orange flags on their 18th hole while the Medal or Stableford competitions are in progress. In addition, golf clubs are invited to either stage a new competition dedicated to the cause or incorporate “It Never Goes Back” into an event already scheduled.
This initiative is part of a broader campaign to raise awareness of childhood cancer and raise funds to support parents of children with cancer via the charity’s exclusive social media platform, the Children’s Cancer Platform.

It Never Will Be, co-founder of She Minai Davis, said: “We want to raise awareness of childhood cancer and the harm it does to their parents and show our support for those affected. By turning their 18th flags gold and orange, golf clubs can help us do just that. If they can Raising money to support caring parents, that would be a bonus.”
