Just hours after the NBA announced its defensive teams for the 2022/23 campaign, Milwaukee star Giannis Antetekounmo posted a cryptic message to his Instagram account that makes us think he’s sick of not being in the awards and is piling on fuel for the upcoming season.
The Bucks presenter left a short but powerful message using unusual language coming from him. “I’m tired of being disrespected. I’m coming,” Antetokounmpo wrote this Tuesday on social media.

Either he’s referring to the fact that he wasn’t voted to the NBA’s defensive teams or maybe even a reaction to the criticism he received after he said his team’s dramatic early playoff exit wasn’t a failure.
The truth is, his post quickly went viral and the internet went into a tailspin trying to decipher the meaning behind his somewhat angry statement. Is it a threat? a promise?
Most of his fans on social media seem to think we’ll start to see a little bit of the charismatic and funny Giannis next season, and we’ll have to get used to a new, more serious and angry athlete chasing his desire to become the NBA Champion for the second time in his career.
Antetokounmpo has been part of the All-Defensive Team every year but one since the 2016/17 season, and finished the season with 16 first-team votes and 28 second-team votes, but it wasn’t enough to get into any of these notable teams.
Although he didn’t make it, Milwaukee was well represented by two first-teamers Jrue Holiday and Brook Lopez. Oddly enough, the star finished sixth in Defensive Player of the Year, but that award is separate for defensive teams.
Players around the NBA defended Antetokounmpo after his remarks in the playoffs and his failure to come out
“It’s not a failure,” Antetokounmpo said two weeks ago after the Heat eliminated the Bucks in the first round. “They are steps to success. There are always steps to that. Michael Jordan played 15 years, won six championships, nine more years [were] to fail? That’s what you tell me.”
On the latest episode of Paul George’s “Podcast P,” the Timberwolves’ Carl Anthony Towns joined forces with the Clippers star and addressed Giannis’ controversial remarks about failure.
“I just say [our season is] Failed because we did these big deals and things to succeed in the playoffs, and the fact that we didn’t make it [of the] The first round, obviously, is a failure for us because we want to win the championship,” Townes said.
“We want to have a chance. I think that, you know, [Giannis] He’s right about you never failing.” “The fact that we went out there and gave it our all and it didn’t work out doesn’t mean you’re a failure, it just means it wasn’t your year. There will always be 29 teams and this is not their year. For me, personally, I just had goals set. I set the minimum for us to make the second round.”
