Washington Capitals prospect Garin Bjorklund scored his first professional win in his professional hockey debut Saturday night in ECHL South Carolina. With the win, the Stingrays (45-22-4-1) clinched the Southern Division for the seventh time in franchise history.
The Stingrays defeated the Jacksonville Icemen (43-23-4-1) by a final score of 5-4 in a shootout Saturday night. Bjorklund stopped 24 of 28, including a series highlight reel of saves.

Bjorklund also closed the door to the Stingrays in a shootout, sealing the victory and the division title for South Carolina.

The Stingrays open the 2023 Kelly Cup playoffs next Saturday, April 22, at North Charleston Coliseum for Game 1 of the division’s semifinal round against the Florida Everblades. The puck drop was set at 6:05 p.m
