Francis Ngannou didn’t win fight vs. Tyson Fury. He won a lot more.

Nobody expected Francis Ngannou to be competitive in his boxing match with Tyson Fury, but the former UFC heavyweight champion shook up the sports world.

Fury, the reigning WBC heavyweight champion, escaped the fight with a win but not without being knocked down by Ngannou, who, in his boxing debut, held his own over 10 rounds and had one judge award him the fight. In the end, Fury claimed a split decision.

It can’t be understated that even though Fury lost the fight, he performed beyond belief against the man widely considered the greatest heavyweight boxer of his generation. And in that sense, Ngannou won a lot more.

Our “Spinning Back Clique” panel of Mike Bohn, Danny Segura and Brian “Goze” Garcia puts it in perspective with “Gorgeous” George Garcia.
