“There are no words to express the deep sense of loss and grief we are feeling right now,” the Drozdov family said in a statement. “We would like to express our deepest appreciation to everyone. All his fans, teammates, colleagues and friends for all the love and support he has received over the years.”
“You all gave him meaning, purpose and something to live for,” the Drozdovs continued. He loved each and every one of you and cherished the conversations, notes, and letters he received. His faith in humanity has never faltered, so know that for all the love you showed him, he loved you back.”
Before becoming a professional wrestler, Drozdov played in the NFL as a nose guard for three seasons. He initially wrestled under the name “Puke Up” due to his ability to vomit on demand.
