Former UFC fighter Felipe Collares died today (Monday) after being hit by a bus in Brazil.
Corrales, 29, was injured in Guarteba and his coach Rodrigo Pape later confirmed his death and said his fighter had returned home after a training session.
First responders arrived on the scene and began operating on Corales, but he died while being transported to the hospital.
Nicknamed “Cabocão”, Colares holds a professional mixed martial arts record of 11-4 and has competed inside the UFC Octagon six times, winning 2-4.
Corrales defeated Domingo Bilarte in the UFC on ESPN 4 in 2019, and his other win came against Luke Sanders in the UFC on ESPN 23. After falling to Chris Gutierrez and Chase Hopper in 2021 and 2022, Corrales ended up joining the Ares Fighting Championship. There he scored a first round win over Aliyon Nhai in February.
He left behind his wife and 10-month-old son.
