Former UFC champ Conor McGregor is used to boarding the principality – with the superyacht the Crumlin striker is attending the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix this weekend – ahead of tomorrow’s official race day.
McGregor, the former undisputed lightweight and featherweight champion under the UFC banner, attended last season’s visit to Monaco – partaking in the fanfare and taking pictures with the drivers on the grid – ahead of the event that was eventually won by Red Bull driver, Sergio Perez.
Starting from the bottom of the grid in 20th tomorrow after receiving a penalty during practice earlier this weekend, Perez’s team-mate and two-time world champion Max Verstappen will take pole position after a blistering qualifying run – ahead of two-time world champion Fernando Alonso, Esteban Ocon, Carlos Sainz, and former champion Lewis Hamilton who make up the top five on the grid.

In addition to UFC superstar Conor McGregor, NFL superstar Odell Beckham Jr. also traveled to Monaco over the weekend, as well as award-winning couple Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones (H/T). daily Mail)
Most recently in celebrations of the ultra-lightweight title fight between Chantelle Cameron and compatriot Katie Taylor at the 3 Arena in Dublin last weekend, Conor McGregor himself is expected to return to active combat competition before the end of this year.
Filming finished Ultimate Warrior 31 Earlier this year, McGregor was expected to fight Michael Chandler before the end of this year at the welterweight limit – possibly at UFC 296 in December.
Without a victory since a 40-second TKO win over Donald Cerrone back in January of 2020, McGregor has been sidelined since fracturing his left tibia and fibula in the opening round of a doctor’s stop loss to former interim lightweight champion, Dustin Poirier at the UFC 264. Another in July 2021.
