Legendary NHL coach and longtime wrestling fan Bruce Boudreau was in attendance at Sunday Night Raw in Hershey, Pennsylvania on Monday. He’s been caught on TV a few times, but WWE took advantage of the fact that Boudreau is a lifelong fan of the company and had him shoot a video with two Canadian wrestling superstars, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
Taking the lead from memorable shots of Boudreau in the locker room of one of the teams he used to coach, the Washington Capitals, he was there to provide guidance and motivational words of wisdom to two of his favorite WWE Superstars.
The video shows Owens and Zayn in the locker room after they came out on top in the six-man main event match against Imperium. On a picnic, Boudreau tries to stop the two men from complaining about the match. Boudreau says, “You guys did really well over there.” He then went on to criticize both superstars, telling Owens that he couldn’t just walk out of the ring and stay in there for five minutes. Owens said he was injured and Boudreau replied, next week in Saudi Arabia – where WWE is holding an event on Saturday – “You can’t afford to do that.” He then told Zayn that he needed to be “more active in the ring”.
Both men were a bit flustered but then Sammy came over and said that was exactly what he needed; Someone to get their ass up and think they should probably take note of some of these tips. Boudreau said you really wanted him and Zayn said, “Sorry, Coach.” Boudreau said he would watch on Saturday and told both players that if they wanted to text him before the game, they were welcome to do so.
When the two were hitting each other trying to push the other, Boudreau said, “Remember, it was a team. Teams love each other, and teams don’t hit each other.”
Boudreau admitted he was so nervous, but it also hit it out of the park and it was hilarious.
