The Columbus Blue Jackets needed a defenseman. Columbus got their man Ivan Provorov From Philadelphia Flyers.
the #CBJ They aggressively shop for a defensive lineman. I wouldn’t be surprised if they make a big push through the NHL Draft – or before.

Back in the NHL Trade Deadline, Provorov’s name was around in trading circles as documented in NHLRumors.com. So it was just a matter of time before a new general manager Daniel Brier Pull the trigger.
The seventh overall pick of the 2015 NHL Draft scored 217 points (65 goals and 152 assists) in 532 games with the Flyers. Last season in 82 games with the Flyers, he scored 27 points (six goals and 21 assists). This is the second lowest since entering the league.
But points aren’t what the Blue Jackets gain. Yes, Provorov has 47 strengths, but he feeds in minutes. Not to mention he can play left side and is a defensive man who moves the puck. While his effectiveness in the defensive zone has varied, he does a lot of things well in his own zone despite what the numbers say.
Traded to the BOJ, Ivan Provorov is a minute-chewing left-handed defenseman who can move the puck around a bit. He also does a lot of things in the defensive zone, though the actual results of those things are pretty mixed. #CBJ #pride month pic.twitter.com/Un9lmovpaS

Provorov will probably get into Gavrikov’s spot. I said at Union Junction it’s not a matter of whether they make moves, it’s how much and how big it is. #CBJ

As mentioned earlier, the Flyers have acquired Sean Walker and Cal Petersen from the Los Angeles Kings. Petersen was put into the palace by royalty with the appearance of Phoenix Copley. A similar situation could happen in Philadelphia depending on their next move.
Cal Petersen #LAKings There are two years left on the $5 million. If buried in the palace, his headgear is worth $3.85 million.

Walker adds depth to the Flyer defense as he can move the puck out of the area and create chances for himself.

The good thing for Philly is that Walker is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

Defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov is one player high on Blake’s priority list, but discussions between the two sides have remained minimal, up to this point, as Los Angeles weighs its options.
