With last week’s event taking place at the head of MiddleWeight contender Alex Pereira vs. Israel Adesanya at UFC 287 in Miami, the UFC plans to head to Kansas City on Saturday, April 15th for the main event with top featherweight contender Max Halloway (#2) against Arnold Allen. (No. 4). The co-main bout will feature Edson Barbosa (No. 14) and rookie featherweight contender Billy Corentillo. Now let’s talk about the main event, Max Holloway (23-7) enters this fight after losing a decision against Featherweight Champion Aleksandr Volkanovski at UFC 276. Holloway made his UFC debut in 2012 against Dustin Poirier and dominated the lightweight and bantamweight divisions. Feather since his arrival. Arnold Allen (19-1) goes into this fight with a 12-fight winning streak, with his final opponent Calvin Kattar coming out in the second round by TKO/KO. Allen debuted in the UFC in 2015 and hasn’t looked back since, he has an undefeated record in the UFC to date and has defeated featherweight opponents like Dan Hooker, Gilbert Melendez, Calvin Kattar and Sodik Youssef. Allen has never finished in his MMA career, and his only loss was in 2014 at Cage Warriors against Marcin Wrzosek via decision. Allen is looking to move up the ranks if he beats Holloway, and possibly fight for the title for whoever wins at UFC 290 with Aleksander Volkanowski vs. Yair Rodriguez.
