In an exclusive interview with MMA Sucka Tim WheatonRoberto Soldic discussed being comparison To Mirko Cro Cop. Robocop said:
“I love it. When I was younger, that was a thing [I always liked]. It’s a legend, you know. They always call me “Mini Cro Cop” and I don’t get mad. “ he completed, “The man is a legend and a pioneer of mixed martial arts. I am very close to him now. Roberto Soldic was inspired by the entire fighting generation of the era. Apart from Mirko Cro Cop added:
“It was exciting. Even kickboxing [Guys like] Ernesto Host, [Xhavit] Eid [Alistair] Overeem, a lot of guys, man. It was really interesting. I was young but I followed these guys. Even Stefan Leko, he is also in Germany and I have seen him many times. He’s a good friend too. These were my heroes when I was young.”
PRIDE FC and K-1 were a huge inspiration for the young ‘Robocop’, and he added:
Kevin Randleman. Mark Coleman. These guys. This time [Alistair] Overeem was also into MMA and kickboxing. Mike Bernardo and Andy Hough. I watched all of these guys every time, and even now and then. Even my coach, Yvan Hippolyte.”
