Adama Sanogo was an unstoppable force in college basketball last season, and he proved it by winning the most important award in the sport: Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four.
And yet, the 6-9, 245-pound big man went undrafted.
That fact was never going to deter Sanogo, who signed a two-way contract with the Chicago Bulls on draft night and has worked hard to earn a place on the roster ever since.
On Tuesday, the Bulls released their opening night roster and there his name was.

Sanogo played in two preseason games with the Bulls, averaging 5.5 points and 4 rebounds in 11.2 minutes per game. He did enough to impress head coach Billy Donovan and Bulls brass, and he’ll be among the 17 players in uniform as the Bulls take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in Chicago on Wednesday night.
Sanogo’s two-way contract means he can play in up to 50 Bulls games while splitting his time with Chicago’s G League team, the Windy City Bulls. If he plays well enough, the team can decide to convert the contract into a regular NBA contract.
