UFC commentator Daniel Cormier has revealed who he thinks Alex Pereira should avoid when he moves up to the light heavyweight.
Earlier this month, Alex Pereira was fired by Israel Adesanya. In the process, he lost the UFC Middleweight Championship.
While many wanted to see a three-way match between the two men, ‘Poatan’ announced in the aftermath of the loss that he was moving up to the light heavyweight division. Given the current state of the division, it looks like it may only take one or two wins to climb into title contention.
Of course, there are still some excellent fighters out there, and many of them will come across the Brazilian. But in the eyes of Daniel Cormier, there is one man Pereira must avoid at all costs.
“This is the match Alex Pereira wants to avoid. I think this is the only 205 you would want to avoid right now because [Magomed] Ankalaev can grapple, and we saw that in the fight against Jan Blachowicz, knocking him down in the last three rounds.”
