UFC President Dana White has revived the Power Slap League for a second event, despite pressure from Congress to shut it down, the loss of its television partner, and the general consensus from MMA fans that it is “the dumbest idea ever.”
In fact, Wyatt is so determined to keep his face-smacking league on his feet that he partnered with Unproven clatter The app, which it insists is “immune to cancel culture”. Unfortunately, it’s still vulnerable to the “no one streams our app” culture.
White and Co recently organized a kick-off press conference to announce Power Slap’s next entry, along with a handful of new and returning contestants. This led to an unintentionally funny exchange between Ayjay Hintz and Russel Rivero.
What did your training look like before this one?
Hintz: I still don’t practice. Nothing at all.
Well, we’ll see what your opponent Russell Rivero has to say about that!
Rivero: For me, I hardly train too because of work. I work a lot. This sport, I don’t think you should put much into it, you just have to stand there and have a blast.
Watch the isolated clip below:
It’s hard to train full time when you’re only getting $2,000 to show up.
Power Slap is back this Wednesday. night (May 24) at 9 p.m. ET clatter. This season’s winners will receive a bright blue belt and insane respect in the slapping ring. They may also get a sloth-like face from fools If they take too much of my strength rest.
